By the Bridge is a dynamic, energetic, unsentimental organisation that continually works towards creating the best possible opportunity for the healthy growth of its children by maintaining the wellbeing of all its staff and foster parents.

We believe strongly in the need to professionalise foster parents, so that they are equipped and confident to offer round-the-clock therapeutic fostering to the children and young people in their care. This is why we prioritise continual training and development of all our foster families, and why we value and pay them as professionals in their field. The exceptional outcomes achieved through this approach bear out its relevance. We are proud to report many delighted local authority customers and many children / young people who have been able to retrieve their lives.

Congratulations to 19 By the Bridge Foster Parents and 4 members of staff, 2 Social Workers and 14 Foster Parent from other fostering organisations, who have successfully completed their Certificate in Therapeutic Fostering (credit rated by the University of Greenwich).

At By the Bridge we have real understanding of the work that we do - 63% of our staff members have direct experience of fostering children or providing therapeutic childcare!
